Thank You for Joining Us: Kicking Off Underground Alt Mag’s First Issue!

Holy shit, we’re really doing it! We’re on the brink of dropping our very first issue of Underground Alt Mag, and honestly, we’re still pinching ourselves. This thank-you will appear at the end of that debut issue when it lands soon. When we started brainstorming this wild idea in a smoky dive bar six months ago, we never imagined how incredible this journey would become. But here’s the thing – none of this would mean a damn thing without YOU, our amazing readers who decided to take a chance on something completely different.
From Concept to Reality: Our Underground Revolution
Let’s be real for a hot minute. The alternative scene has been criminally underrepresented in mainstream media for way too long. While everyone else was busy covering the same cookie-cutter celebrity drama and vanilla lifestyle content, we knew there was a massive community of badass individuals living their truth in the shadows, creating art, building culture, and redefining what it means to be authentically yourself.
We’re talking about the tattooed baristas who moonlight as fire performers, the accountants who spend weekends at underground clubs, the teachers who are secretly incredible alternative models, and the mechanics who create mind-blowing custom motorcycles. These are OUR people, and their stories deserve to be told with the respect, creativity, and raw honesty they bring to everything they do.

What Makes Our First Issue Special
Our inaugural issue is just a taste of what we’re capable of. We’ll feature an exclusive interview with underground tattoo legend Marcus “Blackout” Rodriguez, showcasing his journey from street artist to internationally recognized ink master. We’ll also dive deep into the resurgence of biker culture among millennials and Gen Z, exploring how classic rebellion is being reimagined for a new generation.
The response to our prelaunch teasers has been absolutely incredible. We’ve received messages from readers in over 23 states and 8 countries, sharing their own stories and asking when they can submit their work for consideration. That kind of organic community building is exactly what we were hoping to achieve – creating a platform where alternative voices can connect, inspire each other, and celebrate the beautiful diversity of underground culture.
Alternative Model Pictorials: Beauty Redefined
One of our most exciting upcoming features is our alternative model pictorial series. We’re not talking about your typical glossy magazine spreads here. Our vision is to showcase models who embody the spirit of the underground scene – think full-sleeve tattoos, unconventional piercings, vibrant hair colors, and most importantly, an attitude that says “I define my own beauty standards.”
We’ve already booked shoots with several incredible models who are breaking barriers in their respective scenes. From goth queens to punk princesses, steampunk enthusiasts to cyber-goth innovators, these pictorials will celebrate every facet of alternative beauty. Each spread will tell a story, featuring models in environments that reflect their personal aesthetic – abandoned warehouses, neon-lit underground clubs, vintage motorcycle shops, and other locations that capture the authentic spirit of alternative culture.
Exclusive Interviews: The Voices You Need to Hear
Our interview section is where things get really interesting. We’re not interested in surface-level conversations about favorite colors and coffee orders. We want to dig deep into the minds of the people who are pushing boundaries, challenging norms, and creating the culture that mainstream media either ignores or misunderstands.
Upcoming interviews include conversations with underground club owners who are creating safe spaces for alternative communities, independent tattoo artists who are revolutionizing the industry, motorcycle builders who are crafting rolling works of art, and alternative musicians who are defining new genres. We’re also planning feature interviews with adult entertainment performers who are reclaiming their narratives and building empires on their own terms.
Tattoo Artist Pictorials: Art in Motion
The tattoo community holds a special place in our hearts, and our tattoo artist pictorial series will be unlike anything you’ve seen before. Instead of just showcasing finished work, we’re going behind the scenes to capture the entire creative process. Think intimate portraits of artists in their element, detailed shots of works in progress, and stories about the personal connections between artists and their clients.
We’re featuring everyone from traditional American tattoo masters to cutting-edge artists who are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with ink and skin. Each pictorial will include the artist’s personal story, their artistic philosophy, and exclusive photos of their most meaningful work. We want readers to understand that tattooing isn’t just about creating beautiful art – it’s about building relationships, preserving culture, and helping people tell their stories through their skin.
Biker Culture: More Than Just Motorcycles
Our biker pictorial series is going to blow your mind. We’re moving way beyond the stereotypical “tough guy on a Harley” imagery to showcase the incredible diversity within motorcycle culture. From vintage bike restoration enthusiasts to custom chopper builders, weekend warrior office workers to full-time nomadic riders, the biker community is far more complex and interesting than most people realize.
We’re planning shoots at custom shops, vintage rallies, underground racing events, and scenic rides through America’s most beautiful landscapes. Each pictorial will feature riders with their machines, but more importantly, it will tell the story of what riding means to them. Whether it’s freedom, community, artistic expression, or just the pure joy of the open road, we want to capture the emotional connection between rider and machine.
Adult Alternative Clubs: Safe Spaces and Community
This is where things get spicy, and we’re not apologizing for it. The adult alternative club scene is a vital part of underground culture, providing safe spaces for people to explore their sexuality, connect with like-minded individuals, and experience forms of entertainment that exist outside mainstream nightlife.
Our coverage will be respectful, educational, and honest. We’re planning features on everything from BDSM clubs that prioritize consent and safety education to burlesque venues that celebrate body positivity and artistic expression. We’ll explore the community aspects of these spaces, interviewing owners, performers, and regular patrons about what these venues mean to them and how they contribute to alternative culture as a whole.

Horoscopes with an Edge
Even our horoscope section has a rebellious twist. Forget generic advice about “wearing blue for good luck” – our resident astrologer, Luna Darkmore, brings a punk rock sensibility to cosmic guidance. Each month’s horoscopes will include predictions tailored specifically for alternative lifestyles, whether you’re planning your next tattoo, contemplating a career change to follow your artistic passions, or navigating relationships within underground communities.
Luna’s background in both traditional astrology and modern alternative spirituality means she understands how cosmic energy intersects with countercultural living. Her horoscopes are equal parts mystical wisdom and practical advice, delivered with just enough sarcasm to keep things interesting.
What’s Coming Next
We’ve got some absolutely insane content planned for upcoming issues. Without giving too much away, here’s a sneak peek at what’s in the pipeline:
A deep dive into the underground music scene in three major cities, featuring interviews with venue owners, promoters, and the bands that are creating tomorrow’s sound today. We’re also working on a multi-part series about alternative fashion designers who are creating clothing for bodies and lifestyles that mainstream fashion ignores.
Our photography team is currently documenting the custom car and motorcycle scene, capturing not just the vehicles but the passionate communities that surround them. We’re talking everything from lowrider culture to rat rod enthusiasts, import tuners to classic American muscle car restorers.
